Child Protection Policy

1. Our Commitment

We are dedicated to protecting all children and young people who use our platform. This policy applies to all users, teachers, students, parents, and staff members.

2. Minimum Age Requirements

Account ownership (pursuant to Art. 8 GDPR and Romanian Law 190/2018):

• Users must be 16 years or older to create an account

• Users under 16 are not permitted to register or use the platform

• Date of birth is collected at registration; users must declare they meet the minimum age requirement. We do not perform identity verification.

3. Teacher listings disclaimer

Important information about teachers on Hola25:

• Hola25 is a listing platform only - we do NOT exhaustively verify teacher identities or qualifications

• All teachers must agree to our Code of Conduct and Terms of Service

• Parents/guardians are responsible for verifying teacher qualifications and suitability before engaging their services

• Any lessons or payments are arranged directly between users, outside the platform

4. Parental guidance for users aged 16-17

For users aged 16-17, we recommend that parents/guardians:

• Provide explicit consent before the minor uses the platform

• Personally review teacher announcements and contact details before reaching out to any teacher

• Verify teacher identity and qualifications independently — the platform does NOT verify teachers

• Supervise online or in-person lessons that are arranged off-platform between the minor and the teacher

• Approve any in-person meeting location and arrangements

5. Safe communication guidelines

Recommendations for safer interactions involving minors:

• Teachers must not request sensitive personal information (home address, school details, etc.) from minors

• Communication should remain professional and focused on the declared activity (skill-sharing, tutoring, etc.)

• Parents/guardians should be aware of all conversations and arrangements between a minor and a teacher contacted via the platform

• Note: Hola25 does NOT actively monitor private communications that take place off-platform after a teacher is contacted

• Social media connections between teachers and minor students are discouraged

6. Online lesson safety

Tutoring sessions arranged through teacher announcements take place off-platform via tools chosen by the teacher and student. For video lessons with minors, we recommend:

• Parental presence is strongly recommended

• Lessons should take place in common areas, not bedrooms

• Teachers should maintain professional appearance and behavior

• Parents may choose to record lessons (with all parties' consent and in compliance with applicable laws) for safety

• Screen sharing should be limited to educational content

7. In-Person Lesson Safety

For face-to-face lessons:

• Lessons should take place in public spaces, schools, or libraries

• If lessons are at home, a parent/guardian must be present

• Teachers must never be alone with a minor in a private setting

• Parents should know exact lesson times and locations

• Transportation should not be provided by teachers to minors

8. Prohibited Behaviors

The following are strictly prohibited:

• Any form of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse

• Inappropriate comments, gestures, or behavior

• Sharing or requesting personal photos unrelated to education

• Meeting minors outside of scheduled lessons

• Offering gifts or favors to minors

• Discussing personal or romantic matters with minors

9. Reporting Concerns

How to report:

2. In-platform: Use the report option on a teacher's profile or announcement

3. Emergency: In case of immediate danger, contact local authorities (112 in Romania) or the Child Helpline (116 111 in Romania)

All reports are treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled confidentially.

10. Investigation and Action

Upon receiving a report:

• We review the report as quickly as possible and may suspend involved accounts pending investigation when warranted

• Reports are handled confidentially by Hola25 staff

• Where appropriate, we notify relevant authorities and cooperate with law enforcement

• Confirmed serious violations may result in permanent account bans

11. Data Protection for Minors

We process data of minors with enhanced protection measures:

• Parental consent required for all data processing

• Minimal data collection - only what is necessary for lessons

• No marketing or profiling of minors

• Parents can request data deletion at any time

12. Teacher conduct expectations

All users who activate a Teacher Profile must:

• Accept and follow our Terms of Service and Content Policy

• Acknowledge this Child Protection Policy when engaging with minors

• Apply best practices for child safety in any off-platform lessons they arrange

Hola25 does not currently provide formal training programs and does not verify teacher identity or qualifications.

13. Policy Updates

This Child Protection Policy is reviewed and updated regularly to reflect best practices and legal requirements. Significant changes will be communicated to all users.
