What is Hola25?

Hola25 is a skill-sharing and socializing platform that allows users to learn new skills or socialize through video sessions of up to 25 minutes per day. You can learn foreign languages, programming, cooking, meditation, and much more.

Is Hola25 free?

Yes, Hola25 offers 25 minutes per day for free both as a host and as a guest. For more minutes or advanced features, Premium subscriptions are available.

How do the 25-minute sessions work?

You join the waitlist, choose the category (socializing or skill-sharing) and desired duration (up to 25 minutes). When you are matched with another user, both of you are redirected to a real-time video session.

Who is Hola25 for?

Hola25 is for anyone who wants to learn something new, teach a skill, or simply socialize with other people. It is perfect for students, teachers, language enthusiasts, programmers, artists, and anyone who wants to develop their skills.

Teachers and announcements

How do I become a teacher on Hola25?

Any user can become a teacher. Activate the teacher role in your profile settings, complete the teacher section with the skills you teach, your experience, and contact information. Then publish an announcement with your service details.

Are teachers verified?

No, teachers are NOT verified by the platform. Hola25 is only a connection platform and does not guarantee the quality of services. It is the responsibility of users to verify teachers' credentials before collaborating with them.

How do I contact a teacher?

Navigate to teacher announcements, read the descriptions, and use the provided contact information (email, phone, WhatsApp, etc.) to get in touch directly. There is no booking or payment system on the platform.

Can I teach multiple skills?

Yes, you can add multiple skills to your teacher profile and create multiple announcements for different services.

Video sessions and waitlist

What does host and guest mean?

The host is the user who initiates the video session by joining the waitlist. The guest is the one who joins the session by accepting the connection request. Both have access to the video session and can communicate in real time.

How does the waitlist work?

When you join the waitlist, you choose the category (skill-sharing or socializing) and desired duration (5, 10, 15, 20, or 25 minutes). You can see other available users and choose who you want to connect with by sending a connection request.

What happens when the 25 minutes expire?

The session ends automatically when time expires. You can continue the conversation another day or through other means of contact if you have exchanged information.

Can I choose who I talk to?

Yes! In the waitlist, you can view the profiles of other available users and send connection requests to those you want to talk to. You decide who you connect with.

Limitations and subscriptions

What are the limitations of the free account?

The free account offers 25 minutes per day as a host and 25 minutes per day as a guest. These minutes reset at midnight UTC. There are no limits for viewing announcements or contacting teachers.

What does the Premium subscription offer?

The Premium subscription offers unlimited minutes per day (both as host and guest) and promotion for your teacher announcements (they appear first in listings).

How do I purchase a Premium subscription?

Navigate to the Subscriptions section in the app and choose your desired plan. Payments are securely processed through Stripe.

Can I cancel the Premium subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription anytime from Settings > Subscriptions. Benefits remain active until the end of the paid period.

Call photos

What are call photos?

Call photos are automatic snapshots taken during video calls to help you remember your conversations. A single photo is captured exactly at the 25th second of each call (not every 25 seconds). This timing is inspired by our platform name 'Hola25' - capturing a memory at the 25-second mark of your connection.

When exactly is the call photo taken?

The photo is captured once per call, exactly at the 25th second after the call starts. You'll see a 5-second countdown starting at second 20, giving you time to prepare. The capture happens only once at second 25, not repeatedly throughout the call.

Can I disable call photos?

Yes, you have full control. Go to Settings > Media preferences to disable call photos entirely. You can also choose whether other users can save photos that include you. Both settings are enabled by default.

What types of call photos exist?

There are two types: (1) Self-only photos showing just yourself, available to all users when your video is on. (2) Combined photos showing both you and your partner - this is a premium feature. Combined photos are captured only when the premium user has video enabled AND the partner has given permission for others to save their photo.

What if my video is off when the photo is taken?

If your video is disabled at second 25, no photo will be captured for you. The photo capture requires your video to be active at that exact moment.

Can my partner see my photo?

Your partner can only see a combined photo (showing both of you) if you have enabled 'Allow others to have my photo' in your media preferences. If this setting is disabled, only you can see photos containing your image.

Where can I view my call photos?

Call photos are visible in your Call History. Each call entry shows a thumbnail of the captured photo, and you can tap/click to view the full image.

How long are call photos stored?

Call photos are stored as part of your call history. They remain available as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time, which will also delete all associated call photos.

What happens if the call ends before 25 seconds?

If the call ends before reaching the 25-second mark, no photo will be captured. The call must be active at second 25 for the photo capture to occur.

Security and privacy

Is my data safe?

Yes, we use Firebase Authentication and Firestore to store data securely. All communications are encrypted and we comply with GDPR regulations for data protection.

How do I report a problematic user?

You can report users using the reporting feature in the app. Our team will investigate and take necessary action. In serious cases, contact us directly at contact@hola25.com.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, you can delete your account anytime from Settings > Account > Delete account. This action is permanent and will delete all your data.

How do you use my data?

We use data exclusively for platform operation and do not sell it to third parties. Read the Privacy Policy for complete details.

Technical support

My camera or microphone doesn't work in video sessions

Check if the browser/app has permissions for camera and microphone. Also ensure that no other program is using the devices. Try refreshing the page or reinstalling the app.

I can't connect to a video session

Check your internet connection. If the problem persists, try reloading the page or logging out and back in. Contact technical support if the issue continues.

Is the app available on mobile?

Hola25 is available as a web app that works in any modern browser. A mobile app for iOS and Android is in development.
