Child accounts and parent visibility
Updated October 23, 2026 · 4 min read
A family account links a parent and child without turning every action into one shared profile. Each surface shows who is acting and who benefits.
Create and manage a child account
The parent opens My family or Profile settings → Family and chooses Add child for a child under 16. Each child has a separate card. Account settings contains rename, password reset, disable and delete actions. From age 16, the person may create their own account under the platform rules.
Follow the learning adventure
View progress opens the child's files, separated by teacher and subject. Select a step on the map to see the teacher-awarded level: New, Practiced, Mastered or Expert. Refresh markers and history remain visible. The map does not lock steps or award levels.
Trophies shows rewards received after lessons and the number of times each was received. When available, homework opens from the child's card or page navigation. Motion: on lets you stop animations; the device's reduced-motion preference is respected.
Understand visibility limits
The parent sees only information intended for family access, such as selected bookings or progress. Private messages and a tutor's private notes do not automatically become visible.
Use the child's dedicated portal
The child portal contains the child's lessons, own profile and safety help. Enrolled courses and course discovery appear only when the account has Courses access. It does not provide access to the general user list, random matching and the video-call waitlist, general messaging, money or settings, or the Teacher account; chat attached to the child's own lesson remains available.
The booking also appears in the child's account for participation. Payment and booking management remain in the parent's account.
Separate child participation from parent management
For a lesson purchased by a parent, the child joins the video classroom and uses available lesson chat, notes and resources. The child does not see Payments or receive cancellation, reschedule, completion, dispute or report actions. The child never posts a review publicly.
The parent sees which child benefits and can cancel, reschedule, confirm completion, open a dispute or report. The parent cannot join the video classroom in the child's place. After the lesson is completed, the parent writes the review for the child, and it is published under the parent's name.
Receive support messages for a child
If the Hola25 team needs clarification about the child's account, the private request and email are routed to the parent account. Messages sent to multiple families remain separate, and recipients cannot see one another.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add a child account?
For a child under 16, open Profile settings → Family, choose Add child and fill in the requested information; the date of birth must be real and the account links to your parent account.
What do I see, as a parent, from my child's activity?
You see information meant for family access — such as bookings and shared progress — not everything the child does in their account.
Does my child have their own account, separate from mine?
Yes, the child's account stays distinct; you only see the surfaces meant for family access, not the child's entire account.
What can my child open from their portal?
The child can open their own lessons, join the video classroom and use lesson chat, notes and available resources. Their own profile and safety help remain accessible, and Courses appear only when enabled. Payments and booking-management actions are unavailable.
Who manages a lesson paid for by a parent?
The parent sees the child they booked for and can cancel, reschedule, confirm completion, open a dispute or report. The child joins the classroom; the parent does not join in their place, but writes the review after the lesson is completed, published under the parent's name.
Are a tutor's private notes about my child visible to me?
No. Private notes stay visible only to the tutor; you only get access to the shared progress area for that subject.
Can I have more than one child linked to my account?
Yes — the Family area shows every child account you've added, each with its own bookings and progress.
