Homework keeps the instructions, advisory due date, student submission and tutor feedback in one flow connected to the learning relationship for every attempt.

Who this is for
Tutors, students and parents using the homework workflow
Estimated time
5–10 minutes, depending on your role
Outcome
Homework assigned, submitted and reviewed with roles and history recorded correctly
Before you start
- The Homework feature is available for your account.
- The tutor and student already have an eligible learning relationship on the platform.
- Any files you use meet the formats and limits shown in the dialog.
Steps to follow
Create homework in the tutor library
The tutor opens the Homework tab, checks the available limit and creates a definition with a title, instructions and optional materials. The same definition can later be edited, duplicated or assigned. The library shows the first page, and Load more keeps older definitions accessible.
- Open Tutor hub → Homework.
- Create or choose the homework you want to assign.
Expected result
The homework appears in the tutor library and is available for assignment.
Choose recipients and an advisory due date
The tutor selects eligible students or participants from an ended group, up to 30 at once. The due date is advisory, and an optional reminder can be scheduled 24, 48 or 72 hours beforehand.
- Select recipients and, optionally, each student's existing objective.
- Choose the advisory due date and an available reminder.
Expected result
Each recipient receives a separate assignment, and the due date does not automatically block a late submission.
Submit the answer and files
The student opens the homework, writes an answer or adds at least one file, and checks every upload before submitting. After confirmation, the answer remains locked unless the tutor requests a redo.
- Add the answer and allowed files.
- Acknowledge any failed files, then select Submit.
Expected result
The homework moves to Submitted and appears in the tutor's review queue.
Review the work or request a redo
The tutor opens the submission, reviews its answer and materials, then provides feedback. The queue starts with the 25 oldest submissions; Load more retrieves the next page. When a rubric is present, every criterion needs a qualitative level before the work can be marked reviewed. The template list starts with one page; Load more retrieves older templates.
- Complete the feedback and displayed criteria.
- Use Load more when the template you need is not on the first page.
- Choose Reviewed or Request redo, depending on the result.
Expected result
The student sees final feedback or receives an assignment reopened for another attempt.
Follow history without mixing roles
To do and Submitted homework stays complete and live. Reviewed history opens in pages; the student, parent or tutor uses Load more for older results. A review linked to Student File adds an event but never changes the objective automatically.
- Open the homework from the Reviewed group for its full history.
- Select Load more until you reach the period you need.
- Update an objective or rung separately only when that decision is justified.
Expected result
History shows each attempt and feedback, while progress remains a separate tutor decision.
If something does not work
I cannot submit again after selecting Submit.
Submission is final for the current attempt. Ask the tutor for a redo; only that action reopens the homework.
The 48-hour or 72-hour reminder is disabled.
There is not enough time before the due date for that interval. Choose a shorter reminder or switch reminders off.
A file does not upload.
Check the displayed format and limits: no more than 20 files, 25 MB per file and 100 MB in total.
Frequently asked questions
How do I submit homework to the tutor?
Open the homework from your area, complete the answer and attach the allowed files, then select Submit; the tutor receives it for review.
I submitted homework by mistake before finishing. What do I do?
Once submitted, the assignment locks and you cannot resubmit it yourself; message the tutor directly to clarify. If the tutor requests a redo, the assignment reopens for a new submission.
How do I see the tutor's feedback?
Open the homework from your history; the feedback and updated status appear there once the tutor finishes reviewing it.
What file types can I attach to homework?
Accepted formats are shown on the submission screen; if a file isn't accepted, the error message explains why.
I missed the homework deadline. Can I still submit it?
The due date is advisory — submission doesn't lock automatically once it passes; you can still submit if you haven't already. If it no longer appears submittable, message the tutor directly.
